Goelia - Le Village Gaulois

The reception team were warm and attentive, and they kept the walkways and stairs free of ice each day. Our accommodation at Residence Goelia Le village was clean and warm, in a lovely setting. We had a great half-term holiday, our first time in St. francios longchamp, and we're sure to return. The staff work hard, so don't be put off by the negative reviews.

The snow was fantastic, the resort staff were fantastic, and we had a brilliant time 👏

The pool was included in our holiday package, but we couldn't use it because it was being cleaned in the middle of the season. The paths between the chalets hadn't been cleared well either, so we and several other people had to shovel snow ourselves to get through. Our chalet was cold when we arrived, and the heating wasn't working until we switched it on manually and waited. The water in the downstairs bathroom was frozen, and that room had no working heat. We were at the far left, where the insulation seemed poor, if there was any. Tile floors made it cold underfoot, and the old bathroom walls had dirty, cracked paint. I work in renovation, so these things stood out to me. The blankets and pillows smelled as if they hadn't been washed properly, which made the place feel even dirtier. When we picked up the key, reception staff seemed stressed and angry, and weren't particularly kind or welcoming.

The cabin was poorly maintained, with filthy walls and furniture. A shelf fell on my head because its screw had been put straight into the wall without a wall plug. Losing a key also costs €90, which feels like a complete scam. Even the covered, heated pool was colder than the snow outside. A horrible stay.
