Agil Hôtel

The restaurant was excellent, and the reception staff were welcoming. They spoke good English, too. This was our second stay, since the location works perfectly for us when we visit Nantes. We’d gladly recommend the hotel.

I found the towels dirty and the bed used and left unmade, and the room itself hadn’t been serviced. When I asked for a different room, I had to bring the staff member back so he could see it, because he didn’t believe me. I didn’t raise it again the next day. They still charged me the 3+ euro in taxes that were supposed to be included, which made it seem like they didn’t care. I didn’t want a weak apology or excuses to leave a sour taste during my holiday.

At 72.50€, this felt very expensive for what the room was worth. It was extremely dirty, old, and outdated, with no coffee for the kettle. The noise was bad too: motorcycles raced in front of the rooms at night, and I could hear other guests walking past and talking in their rooms. The only access to the first and second floors is by outside stairs.

The restaurant was a much better deal than places downtown. Breakfast was good, and dinner was really nice, with a big buffet of starters and desserts. Our lamb steak was very tasty. The hotel itself was clean and everything was in good order. It’s motel-style, with room doors facing outdoors, and the rooms have A/C. Energy use could be better: the bathroom was heated for no reason during a heat wave, the A/C was on all day, and there were halogen lights.
