We had a huge room with windows on two sides, both facing the sea. The hotel sits above the shore, where sand gives way to rocks and tide pools at low tide. We enjoyed watching the water come and go. A marked coastal path starts nearby and makes for a lovely walk. There is also good parking. The hotel has clearly seen grander days, but still has its 30's charm. It feels like Monsieur Poirot could appear in Reception at any moment, and Agatha Christie would have felt at home. Service was very friendly, though a little amateur rather than professionally trained. You could almost imagine Aunties and cousins being roped in to help. Breakfast was delightful, with lots of home-made jams made by Grand'mere. There was also a basket of fruit on the table to help yourself to, though I was surprised to find it charged extra when we paid. The restaurant turned out to be a Seafood Bar. You had to order your plateau de fruits de mer in advance, which we didn't want to do, so we went into the little town instead, where there were lots of restaurants to choose from. Room tip: Ask for a sea view, ideally the large room with windows on both sides.
