Villa Celine

Andy and Dawn were so friendly and hospitable, and knew the local area well. They even went out of their way to make my friend a different breakfast to work around her allergies. I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful old house in the unexpectedly lively village of Saint-Laurent. It was a pleasure, and I hope I can return someday. Highly recommended.

The rooms are huge, with ceilings about 3m high, and there’s art on the walls throughout the house. There’s parking on site, and a pool to cool off in when it’s hot. If the weather cooperates, breakfast is served outside in the garden with juice, coffee, French pastries, and jam. Andy and Dawn are happy to suggest things to do and places to go around the vineyards and natural parks. This historic house has a charming, slightly spooky feel, like a Hitchcock set on a dark, stormy night, and it’s worth every penny. It could easily feel like a home away from home.

The pool is especially nice from mid-afternoon, when the high walls bring welcome shade. This is a great base for exploring the Corbieres, with some nice restaurants and bars nearby. The pizzas at the little bar up the road are amazing. Andy and Dawn are superb hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the house is lovely. We only stayed one night, but the big, clean room and great breakfast made it a lovely visit. Dawn and Andy are so nice and make you feel at home. I’d recommend staying here without hesitation.
