The room was spotless and just right, the beds were really comfortable, and the hotel was so quiet. We also appreciated the nice tea tray. The staff gave us a very warm welcome, and the location was fantastic. We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast looked good, but we didn’t have time to stay for it. Next time! There’s a pool as well. We’d definitely come back and can recommend it without hesitation.

We felt welcome every time we dealt with the reception team. They were warm, kind and attentive, and always ready with recommendations or practical help. Service across the hotel was very good. The restaurant was a highlight, with excellent food and real care put into each meal. Hôtel Anne de Bretagne is right in the heart of Intra-Muros, so it’s easy to explore the old town on foot. It combines a great location with comfort and good service. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Saint-Malo.

A nice, modern room in a smaller hotel right in the old city of Saint Malo. The city walls and the little streets lined with cafes, bars and restaurants are close by. The public parking garage is about a five-minute walk away.

Our room was spacious and the location was excellent, but I wouldn’t want to stay here longer than our one night before the ferry. There are better options both inside and outside the walls. The elevator was out during our stay, so we had to carry our bags up the stairs. The hotel hadn’t warned us, and other reviews suggest it may have been broken before we arrived. Anyone with mobility concerns should bear that in mind. Staff just said the stairs were the only way up, with no apology or offer to help. I’d expect better service from a four-star hotel. The air conditioning worked in the afternoon, but when we returned in the evening, its controls were locked and we couldn’t turn it on. I don’t know whether the hotel had disabled it because of the cooler weather or if the control was broken. Opening the window wasn’t an option either, as people were yelling in the noisy streets until 2 in the morning. Again, I’d expect more from a four-star place. It was fine for one night, but not for a longer stay.

Everything seemed fine until breakfast. At 9:30 on Sunday morning, 28/9/25, there were no seats. A few guests wandered around looking for a table and getting nervous, with nobody there to manage things. There was no service. Eventually a couple left, so we sat down and waited for someone to set the table. Once that was done, we went to get our continental breakfast, but there were no plates. We had to ask and wait while a stack was brought back from the kitchen. Then we found that the scrambled eggs, bacon, ham and fresh fruit salad had all run out. What was left was bread, butter, yogurt and industrial fruit juice. That’s the same kind of breakfast you can get at Campanile, a two-star hotel that costs half as much. I’d give Hôtel Anne de Bretagne Saint-Malo two stars too, on a par with a standard Campanile hotel.
