The hotel was superb, with a great location, a lovely room, and very friendly, helpful staff. My one concern is the lock on the emergency exit at the bottom of the stairs. In an emergency, people may be panicking and rushing out, and might not read the sign telling them to press the button. The button is tucked away in a corner and isn't immediately visible.

St Malo is gorgeous, and the hotel is well located, close to everything. The double glazing kept things quiet, and the bathroom was functional, though not very private. The hotel looks beautiful, but we found it impractical and wouldn't return. Staff were efficient, but not especially friendly. In our room there was only a small hanging section for clothes, no proper place to unpack, and nowhere to set our case. It stayed on the floor, so getting clothes meant scrabbling around on the hard floor. That might be fine for one night, but we stayed two and found it a problem. After we complained about the lack of storage, we were given a folding suitcase stand. The manager also kindly offered us a suite for the second night, but we didn't want to spend part of our only full day moving rooms. We were told the lack of storage was due to the architects' design, which kind of set the tone for the hotel. Breakfast was very underwhelming, though with wonderful restaurants, bars, cafes, and bakeries right nearby, why have a bland hotel breakfast? We didn't use the bar or restaurant, so can't comment on them. We prefer a bit more function and comfort, and a friendlier atmosphere. St Malo is definitely worth another visit, for a little longer next time. By the way, don't lose or dispose of the water bottle in your room or you'll be fined 40 euros !!!

We hadn't reserved parking, and there were no hotel spaces, but luckily we found a spot next to the hotel for €25. The rooms were comfortable, dogs were welcome, and the hotel was amazing, right in the heart of the old town. We walked to the boulangerie next to the church for an amazing breakfast.

The hotel was really welcoming, and the massage was fantastic and so relaxing. Book a few days ahead, especially if you want a weekend slot.
