A five-minute walk through the shops gets you to the harbour, and I’d happily stay here again. I had a heavy cold, which wasn’t much fun in a full-face helmet, and after a couple of rainy travel days I just wanted somewhere to hide away. The couple of self-contained rooms in the garden, with a shower and the rest, suited me perfectly. I could keep my bike safe in the garden.

I paid a deposit by bank transfer for a four-day family reunion event in August, but COVID measures led to the event being canceled. The owner said she would return the money. Even after several reminders, I still haven’t received it, and she isn’t answering the phone. I don’t know what to make of this.

I stayed in August 2017, within the walls of Saint Martin. I loved it. The little room under the roof was pretty, breakfast was simple and very good, and the hostess was really friendly.

Le Poulailler was so peaceful, and it had everything we needed for a great stay. The generous breakfast is worth having: croissants, toast, cheese, bacon, an omelet, coffee, tea, and fruit juice. We had a wonderful weekend, thanks to the warm welcome, good conversations, morning rundown of things to do around the island, and a few anecdotes. 🙏😘

The owner was so kind, and we had a really lovely time at the family home. Our attic room was charming, and the whole experience was wonderful.
