You can either take in the quiet of this remote hillside valley or spend time learning about the place's fascinating past. The award-winning garden has a wonderfully quirky character, and the whole site feels peaceful and steeped in history. A great place to visit.

The two women running this place are so welcoming, and breakfast was fantastic. It's right next to a ruined abbey, with lovely rooms full of antique furniture and a really atmospheric feel. If you enjoy rustic French style, this is quite a place. They also serve traditional French food.

The scenery is beautiful, and the secluded setting still has all its charm.

A lovely place to visit. If you're using the Pays Chatare app, download the audio guide before you get there, since there's no phone coverage at the abbey.

From the monks' stairway to the gardens, there's a quiet spiritual feeling throughout the abbey. It's beautifully maintained, with interesting details everywhere, and feels like the ultimate getaway.
