We used the campsite as a base for exploring the area, staying a week with my two children in our small VW campervan. Even with the site quite busy from 20th-27th August, it was very clean and surprisingly quiet most nights after about 10:30. The younger kids have small trampolines, two table tennis tables and a few other things to play with. The pool gets busy at peak times, but it's clean and the slides were great. You can order bread and croissants the evening before. There's also a small cafe, though our meal wasn't great: the moules were very overcooked, the frites were good, and the service was a bit grumpy. Saint Nectaire is lovely, if a little faded. For supplies there's only a very small supermarket at the top end of town, while the Auchan in the lovely medieval town of Besse is much bigger.

I've spent most of June here and am leaving today. After my serious operation, this was a wonderful place to convalesce, and I feel completely rejuvenated. The owners are the best part: dedicated, helpful and so kind. The site is lovely and perfectly maintained, with great pitches and facilities, a beautiful pool, and great pizzas. The surrounding area is stunning. Thank you for everything. We'll definitely be back.

Plenty of great walks start right from the campsite, and the location is amazing. The pool was nice and warm enough for vigorous swimming, even in April.
