The homemade French dinner and breakfast were unbelievably good, and the company was great too. Add the lovely setting around this antique castle and the beautiful decor inside the house, and it made for a unique experience I'll never forget. I recommend it completely.
Really nice stay.
We had a memorable weekend at Château de Peyralade near Cucugnan, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Maury. The château is magnificent, and the stay felt peaceful and luxurious, with lots of charm and generosity. We loved the refined dinner and the chance to enjoy the culture of this delightful couple. You can also try the wines and jams made at the château and take some home.
Château de Peyralade is a peaceful retreat in an idyllic setting, and we left very happy with our stay. Véronique and Xavier Maury were so welcoming, attentive, and interesting to talk with. Our room was comfortable, and their care showed in all the details. Their knowledge of local history, nearby places, and wine makes this a destination well worth visiting.
The rooms have been recently renovated and decorated with great taste. This is a lovely base in the Agly Valley for visiting the Cathar castles. The hosts are warm and attentive, and meals are delicious, sociable, and full of interesting information. The owner trained as an oenologist, so the wines on offer are excellent too.
