Loft Panorama

I want to be clear about what EUR150 a night should get you. Our 4* loft booking was changed to a 3* tiny house without asking us, and we weren’t told it had a lower rating even though that’s what we’d paid for. The change and lack of information are unforgivable. For EUR90, I’d have expected less, but I think my standards for EUR150 are fair compared with similar accommodation. There were some positives: a nice view, a quiet and private setting, and a large private outdoor seating area. The hosts were friendly when we arrived, but we didn’t see them again. The bed was on a wooden platform with a thin mattress, had no storage, and was uncomfortable enough to give me a bad back. There were no tables, and you had to climb over to get into bed. The small living area, about 6m2, had no storage or even a clothes rail. The shower tray and outdoor table were dirty, and the cutlery drawer hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The shower ran out of hot water after one person, and its blocked drain caused an overflow. Ants were everywhere, despite ant boxes under the bed, so they clearly knew about the problem. There was no air conditioning. Since it’s above a sauna, I can’t imagine how hot it gets in warm weather. The advertised wifi didn’t reach the tiny house, so we had to sit on the main house step to use it. The advertised pool was covered in May. We arrived to find nowhere to park, and getting out after parking between two big gravel piles wasn’t easy. The garden could be tidier, with sheeting on the bank and piles of roof tiles. Access is up a hill on uneven steps, and the decking felt unsafe without a barrier. Worst of all, after we’d paid EUR150 a night for accommodation we hadn’t booked and that was below standard, they offered a free night in exchange for a 5* review.
