We loved staying here. The garden is a peaceful spot to relax, and parking was easy. The hosts were helpful with everything for our two-year-old, including a cot and feeding chair, and they even got us a car seat. The place is quiet, pretty, and clean, with great service. They welcome pets too, I saw a couple arrive with a dog. Breakfast had vegetables, cheese and cereal as well as juice and coffee, which made a nice change from a typical French breakfast. I guess you can ask if you have a special request.

Breakfast was generous, served in a really beautiful, welcoming lounge. The owners are so warm and friendly that you feel at home with them. Our spacious, comfortable room was wonderfully quiet. Two lovely house cats greeted us in the well-kept garden.

At 9 pm, after our reservation had been confirmed the day before, I called and was told, “Didn't anyone teach you how to call people? This isn't a hotel! You can't be here in 15 minutes? Then look somewhere else.” I don't consider that professional or considerate. I'd rather stay somewhere mediocre with friendly staff than somewhere beautiful with unkind staff. The owners canceled our reservation at the very last minute for reasons that weren't clear, and then took the time to tell me my parents had raised me badly. Maybe it's a beautiful place, but the owners were mean and rude. Normandy has plenty of lovely houses, and I'm sure some are run by good people. This isn't one of them.

We stayed for two nights at the end of October 2021. The welcome was only average, and the owner's cold, rather persistent way of telling us we needed to book dinner because this wasn't Paris really stood out. We understood the point, but she could have said it more calmly and less aggressively. There had been no hot water for four or five days because of a plumbing problem. We were told the plumber had just finished fixing it and that we were lucky. Problems happen, of course, but it would have been better to let us know beforehand. At least that issue was sorted, and we could wash and be warm in the room. We had booked through Booking.com and paid the full amount there. At checkout, the owner said we hadn't paid and treated the Booking.com charge as some kind of confirmation, so we paid again by credit card, naively and in a hurry. We realized that same day it was a mistake and contacted her for a refund. After several problems with the owner, which we won't detail out of respect, we're still waiting for the money back and doubt it'll ever come. Internet users, take care. I've left my comment, and it's up to you whether you amend it on certain points. Have a nice day.

The house is lovely, with classic decor, and everything was very clean and comfortable. It's in the small village of Dormont, close to Giverny, the battlefields and other interesting places to visit. The Seine is nearby too, with little riverside bistros and fishing in summer. Paris is an hour away. It's a fairly expensive B&B, though it's very well run by a charming Belgian-Polish couple.
