Chateau de Hieville

The house and grounds are stunning, and Stéphane and Christophe made us feel so welcome. We loved the beautifully decorated rooms and the delicious breakfast. Quite simply one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you for such a superb visit.

The little farm was a highlight for us, especially getting to feed Cacahuète the donkey, the goats, chickens, and geese. We stayed two nights with my fianceé, and Stéphane and Christophe welcomed us so warmly that we felt like royalty from the start. They also shared a list of places to see in Normandy, and every one we visited impressed us. They even offered to make dinner, then brought out local apple juice and Calvados to taste afterward. We had booked the less expensive rooms but were offered an upgrade to the largest one. It looked just like the photos, was spotless, and had all the amenities, with fresh flowers as a lovely touch. Breakfast was homemade, including marmelade, muesli, yogurt, chocolate creme, eggs from their own chickens, and more. Christophe, a trained pâtissier, even made my fianceé a wonderful gluten free cake. Stéphane set the table in an authentic Chateau-like style. This was the best bed&breakfast we've experienced so far. The owners put real care into making guests feel at home, and we'd happily come back.

We had to leave early, and they arranged an earlier breakfast for us. Stephane and Chris were attentive and friendly throughout our honeymoon stay, and gave us great ideas for sightseeing and places to eat. Stephane even helped us phone restaurants to book tables. The chateau was peaceful and posh, and our room and washroom felt luxurious. We hope to return someday.

The hosts made us feel so welcome, and we were really happy during our weekend here. The place is beautifully decorated and wonderfully calm. We'll definitely come back!
