The room itself was great once we got in at 2pm, and it was cleaned on time every day. The place is quirky in a good way. But flights from RSA get in at 6am, and even though we asked in advance, we couldn't check in early. We were worn out from travelling and had to spend hours in the scorching heat in a country we didn't know. I was hoping for some tourist advice. I also missed home on that first day. I'm an inexperienced traveller and don't speak French, which didn't help.

We were there during cyclone Balal, when conditions were difficult, and the staff handled things exceptionally well. Our room was spacious, with a big bed and a balcony looking out over the port and sea. I'd highly recommend this hotel.
