Château de Briailles - Chambre d'hôtes

We only stopped for one night, but it felt too short. This old castle has a pool, a golf course, and a remarkable art collection, and it’s a lovely place to slow down and stay longer. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and breakfast was delicious, with Auvergne cheese and ham, fruit picked from the garden, homemade jams, and cakes. Madame Charmat is a charming host.

The homemade breakfast was a real highlight, and the château manager was so attentive that our family felt right at home. Our British family had a wonderful welcome at Château de Briailles. We stayed for a few days in a spacious room overlooking the golf course, and the swimming pool was a treat. We’d highly recommend it.

We were very well looked after by the owner, who paid close attention to her guests. Breakfast was generous and prepared with care. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a breathtaking view over the golf course. The house is charming and well placed for exploring the region. Highly recommended.

We found the golf course peaceful, friendly, and challenging, and the hostess was always available with plenty of information about the region. The rooms are castle-sized, the breakfast is excellent and homemade, and the whole place has a lot of charm. A real gem.
