Central Hotel

It’s a small, basic hotel, and the rooms seem to have been renovated recently. The staff were friendly and flexible about check-in and check-out times. The low price was a big plus for us. We didn’t try breakfast. Parking is limited, but you can park on the street, and the tram is a ten-minute walk away.

I was here for a business trip, and I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it, even though the receptionist was very helpful. The room was being renovated that day, but the result still wasn’t somewhere I wanted to rest. The mattresses felt like concrete, the room was covered in cobwebs, and the bathroom was about 18 square centimeters, if I’m being optimistic. The lights barely worked, with only one of two actually on, and the front parking lot was at least there, while the one in back looked like a garbage dump. It’s convenient if you want to shower halfway inside the toilet in a dim room, then spend the night impatiently waiting to leave the next day. Basically, it’s perfect if you’re after a “1970s gangster on the run” vibe. If you just want a proper night’s sleep, there’s an Ibis Budget 10 minutes away.

For €50 a night, the value is unbeatable. Negative reviews need to be judged in that context. It’s not a €100-a-night room, so the same standards shouldn’t apply.

The hotel is simple, but the rooms have been renovated tastefully. The staff were very pleasant, and the location is convenient, close to everything.
