Camping Tikayan La Vallée du Paradis

The surroundings are great, and the reception staff were helpful and spoke English. The rest was fine, though the mattresses and pillows were old, and the floor was uneven in some parts of the house.

The pool was great, but the facilities were a letdown. We were in our motorhome at the far end of the site from reception, and the chemical toilet disposal point was at the opposite end too. It had no tap or hose to rinse the cassette. There were no dishwashing facilities near our pitch either, just a hand basin in the toilets without a draining board. The showers were hot, but had no hooks for clothes and didn't appear to be cleaned. There wasn't even a squeegee.

The entertainment was a real highlight, with little games during the day and shows at night. I watched every one, though the sound could bother people who aren't attending and want to sleep. There's plenty to do nearby, and a bike path starts right at the camping. You can also get straight to the river, then out to the sea by boat or kayak. It's a quiet, family-friendly place. The location depends on what you're after: a gravel beach is 600m away, while a sandy beach is a 20-minute drive. The pool is nice but unheated, and there's a jacuzzi too. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced, and everyday conveniences are close by. The receptionists were friendly, available, and quick to respond. We really enjoyed our stay, and I'd definitely recommend it.

We and several other guests had to go buy tight swimming trunks. Fortunately, a store was just around the corner and they weren't expensive, but the requirement still seemed weird.
