The terrace facing the Charente River was such a lovely extra. Inside, the cottage was immaculate, with fresh-smelling rooms and perfect bedding. Sandrine was discreet, kind, and attentive, and made a delicious breakfast. A really delightful stay in a lovely house.

The bedrooms were comfortable and nicely decorated, and the house looks out over the Charente River. There’s a little outdoor space as well as a terrace upstairs. Getting around with bicycles was a bit awkward, but still manageable.

We found a quiet retreat right beside the Charente River, and the room was beautiful, decorated with real taste. We were welcomed so warmly, and would happily recommend staying here.

The owner is welcoming and very accommodating, and they even made sure my breakfast was gluten-free and lactose-free. It was lovely and delicious, too. The house is spotless, thoughtfully furnished, and decorated with care. We always feel at ease here and are already looking forward to another visit. Its position is beautiful, right in the center of the village beside the idyllic Charente River. There’s what you need nearby, including a small boat rental and activities for children. Saintes is about a 20-minute drive away. Other guesthouse and hotel owners could pick up a few ideas from this place.

St. Savinien is a lovely village to explore, with art, outdoor spaces, places for children to play, and beautiful walks nearby. The gîte itself is a charming stone house, with a typical terrace looking out over the Charente River. The decor is tasteful, and we received a warm welcome. Breakfast in the lovely dining room was very good.
