The kids had a great time too, thanks to the games and books in their own corner and the staff making an effort to keep them happy. There’s loads of room in the restaurant, and the food was excellent. Everyone was so warm and welcoming that lunch felt special. We’ll be back for sure.

Sitting out on the Terrasse in the sun was a real plus, and service was friendly and fast. Dinner was good, though nothing special. I asked for my steak medium, but it came out rather well done. Still, it’s a good place for a meal.

The quiet spot is lovely for a walk, but the beds were too hard for us and the room felt quite small. The beds are tucked under the roof, so mind your head if you get up during the night. It’s a simple hotel, with a restaurant of reasonable quality and a very basic breakfast: bread, croissant and marmalade, with cheese available on request.

The truffard at the restaurant is well worth trying. It’s a really cosy auberge, and the owners and staff are all so lovely. Wonderful people, and I’d definitely recommend it.

In a small village near the Sancy mountains, they serve traditional Auvergne dishes. I found it a little pricey, though.
