The hotel recommended a great meal, and we slept well that night.

The owners were so helpful, and the hotel was lovely and really clean. Breakfast had everything you’d want for a continental one. It was very good value, and I’d stay again when I’m in the area. Highly recommend.

A basic hotel with a decent breakfast.

The location is good, but for the price the room was far too basic for the amenities provided. Breakfast service was quite unusual. I’d only choose this place as a last resort if there were no other options. For the same money, you can find a three-star hotel with a lot more comfort.

I’ve stayed at the Hotel de France in Saintes about ten times, and I highly recommend it. It’s a calm, quiet hotel just steps from the train station, which is really handy. The managers are friendly and give you a warm welcome. Every room is spotlessly clean, with good quality bedding.
