Hôtel ibis Saintes

There’s a pleasant outdoor seating area where you can have a drink from the bar, and there are boules and a dartboard for a bit of fun. Parking on site is plentiful. The rooms are clean and practical, and the little restaurant serves very good evening meals. Like many Ibis hotels on a trip through Europe, it does what you need. I’d happily stay again.

The restaurant on site was good, and the staff were very friendly. The location is convenient too. Our room was quite cramped, though we were only there for one night.

The staff welcomed us warmly and made a fuss of our dog. We had to eat in the bar area with the dog, but it was comfortable and at least as well placed as the restaurant. The food was the same as in the restaurant, good value, and the local red wine we ordered was delicious. Our room was clean and spacious, with a really good shower. Being so close to the motorway made this a useful break on our drive to Spain. A great dog friendly hotel.

The room was very quiet, and I didn’t hear other guests or pets. It was clean and had the basics: a shower room, desk space, and a wardrobe with several shelves. I did get a bit stressed because my cat could hide in lots of spots, including under the bed and in the wardrobe. Check-in was quick, which I appreciated after a long drive. The hotel was easy to find, close to the motorway, and had plenty of parking. I stayed one night while travelling through. It’s in what seemed to me like an industrial or commercial area. I arrived at night, but noticed what looked like a few shops and a buffet restaurant nearby.
