Chateau du Bas Boulay

The grounds cover 8 hectares and are very peaceful, with a few animals roaming around, including a friendly horse. It's a lovely place for children, with large family rooms and proper beds. The château has been renovated as a bed and breakfast and self-catering cottages, and we received a very warm welcome. Breakfast is excellent if you're staying in one of the bed and breakfast rooms. The unpaved road makes getting there a bit difficult, but I'd recommend it as a stopover or a base for exploring this lovely region and its excellent local produce. The children loved it, and so did we!

Breakfast was a treat: homemade jam, pound cake, brioche and yogurt, all made by the owner with local products. The lovely château has magnificent grounds, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well kept. We received a very friendly welcome.

It was completely quiet and relaxing, in a lovely, secluded setting. Our room was spacious and beautiful, and our hosts were kind and attentive. We brought two dogs and had no trouble at all. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

The homemade breakfast was excellent. It felt comfortable and familiar here, like being with family, and the place itself is beautiful and peaceful. The hosts are so attentive and suit the charm of the location perfectly. I'll definitely come back.
