Gites de la Villa Pergola

The pool is gorgeous and just the right temperature, and the whole property feels peaceful and undisturbed. It’s a beautiful, distinctive villa, with green grounds and apartments furnished with care. The owners are very welcoming and gave us useful ideas for seeing the area. It’s the nicest vacation rental I’ve stayed in, and a perfect place to relax.

Hervé was a wonderfully helpful and accommodating host, and his warm manner made the place feel like a temporary home. The furnishings are top quality, and the bed linen and towels were especially impressive for a holiday apartment. Caves, waterfalls, and the Verdon Gorge are all easy to reach by car. I’d gladly come back. See you soon!

Villa Pergola is a great base for outings. We reached Lake Sainte-Croix, the Verdon Gorge, nearby villages, and lovely vineyards for wine tastings, all within about 45 minutes. Hervé and Vinciane were friendly, attentive, helpful, and discreet. We really enjoyed talking with them and getting their tips on places to visit. We stayed eight nights in July 2023 with our daughters, aged 7 and 3, in the Bergerie, which suited our family of four perfectly. The large terrace was ideal for lingering outside on long, warm summer evenings. The grounds are stunning wherever you look, with a gorgeous pool garden and a bastidon that gives the place real Provençal charm. Having only a few accommodations was a big plus for us. We often had the large pool to ourselves and could play and jump around without worrying about disturbing anyone, even in peak season in the Var. One small annoyance: the pebbles on the Bergerie terrace are painful to walk on barefoot. Paving stones would make it easier to reach the table under the pergola without putting shoes on every time. 😉

The high-quality bedding, elegant interior, and quiet from everyone around us made for a truly restful holiday. During the heatwave, the shaded pool was exactly what we needed. Wherever you are on this estate, there’s beauty and serenity, with a superb view and a thousand kinds of trees. Hervé and Vinciane gave us such a warm welcome, too. No faults, we’ll be back...
