Hotel du Golf Le Lodge

My partner and I only planned a quick overnight stop during our trip and didn't expect much. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with a bath. We added breakfast so we could get back on the road quickly, and there was a huge selection. We also went into town for food and wound up having a romantic, fairytale kind of night. If you can, go see the town! I read lots of reviews myself, so honestly, don't hesitate.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly. The rooms were a decent size and clean, and it's a nice hotel. But I was overcharged, and didn't notice until I'd paid. When I pointed it out, I just got a shrug and was told it was too late to do anything. That really put a damper on the stay. I also ordered a meal at the hotel. The salad was great, but the expensive steak was awful, tough and stringy beyond belief. I told the waiter, who checked with the chef and came back saying the chef thought it was lovely. I asked if the waiter had tried it, and he laughed and said no. Nothing was offered to replace it or refund me, so I was left with a mangy old steak a dog would have struggled to eat.

Really nice hotel, with a good restaurant and a nice bar. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the pool was nice too. They went out of their way to find gluten-free options for my evening meal and breakfast.

I was here for work and found the accommodations good, the food excellent, and the service very kind. It's a family-run business, and it's very quiet.
