Hôtel De Charme Le Provence

We were exhausted when we arrived, only to find that the hotel wasn't honoring the reservation for the specific room we had chosen for its ceiling architecture, despite accepting the booking and emailing confirmation. They casually blamed a computer mistake and offered us a room with an acoustic tile ceiling, which I declined. The owner then offered a different room without the features we booked and said there would be no extra charge. I told him it was unacceptable to be asked to pay more for a different room when the hotel had failed to give us the confirmed one. The alternative room had a large broken floor lamp. When I pointed it out, the owner shrugged, said it was broken, and put it in the closet. I asked him to remove it and bring another because the room's lighting was inadequate. He offered free breakfast made up of vending machine type food, but that wasn't what we wanted. We wanted the hotel to honor the room confirmation. We feel cheated and are extremely dissatisfied with the hotel and its management.

The owner was very nice and helpful, and she did a lot for us. The hotel is charming and beautiful inside. If stairs are difficult for you, ask for a room on a lower level. Thank you so much.

The room is okay for the price, but the renovation looks rushed and the finishes are poor. Breakfast was horrible: only three tables for the whole hotel, no French viennoiseries or baguette, just wrapped industrial pastries and bread that were sugary. Apparently the person clearing tables was also responsible for cleaning rooms, so we had to put away old dishes ourselves. That's not their fault, they can't be everywhere.

The hotel was amazing and just as shown. The staff were very polite, and the room was by far the cleanest I've stayed in. Mrs Natalie was especially kind. We're looking forward to visiting again. Congratulations!
