The night sky here is incredible, with hardly any background light at all. We loved how peaceful and tucked away the place felt, while still having access to all the great things to see in the Ardèche region. There’s also a local pool with a lovely view if you’d rather take it easy. The house worked really well for our family and friends, and was child friendly; we could even bring our dog. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bedrooms were nicely and individually decorated, and communicating with the hosts by email was easy. As one of our American visitors posted, “#asliceoparadise,” which says it pretty well.

The chickens were a lovely surprise. I really enjoyed being able to see them up close and pet them. The view is amazing, and between the pool and the sauna, there’s plenty to enjoy. I felt quite special as a guest here. Our room was spacious, very clean, nicely furnished, and well equipped. Fanny was so friendly that she asked ahead of time whether we’d like to eat when we arrived. She made salmon with onions in the oven, and it was delicious. I’d highly recommend this place! :)

There’s a spring on the property with fresh, clean water, which is a special touch. On hot days, the pool is a welcome extra, and they also sell tasty jam and wine. The setting is beautiful, and the 18th-century houses have been restored in a way that’s both successful and picturesque.

We had such a memorable stay, and the hosts made us feel welcome from the start. They were warm and very helpful throughout our visit. The property has been renovated with great taste and decorated thoughtfully, so we felt really spoilt. It’s comfortable and stunning, but still authentic, with a real sense of history. There’s loads to discover and do in the surrounding area, and we had a brilliant holiday. Highly recommend it!

Even after nearly 13 years of coming here, we still find new places to explore around Le Fayet every year. The hikes nearby are stunning, and the place is exceptional in every season.
