Hôtel Restaurant Le Meysset

The grounds are lovely and well kept, and the pool area and terrace are great. The car park was good too, with EV chargers for anyone who needs one. The walk into town is a hard one, especially coming back up the very steep hill. We stayed for three nights in September. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. The room was simple but worked well enough, though the bathroom felt a little basic. We would have liked a fridge in the room for keeping drinks and snacks cold.

The staff and restaurant were fantastic, and the food was superb, the best we've eaten in France. The outside of the hotel also looks lovely. But the rooms are small, uncomfortable and badly in need of renovation. Even the things that don't need renovating need a proper clean, right down to the hotel sign. It's a real shame because the place could be outstanding. We enjoyed our stay, but the poor quality of the rooms let it down.

The room let the place down: it was too small, needed refurbishing and had no air conditioning. That's a shame, since the staff were great, the location is beautiful and the exterior and all the outdoor spaces look lovely. If you don't expect to spend much time in the room and the weather isn't too hot, I guess it should be fine.

The grounds were lovely, with wonderful views, and the room itself was very comfortable. But the hotel is about a ten-minute drive from Sarlat, at the top of a hill, so walking there wasn't an option for us.
