The location was great, and we could easily walk to all of Sarlat’s sights. The attic apartment is up three flights of stairs. Only three of the ten spotlights in the ceiling beams worked, so the place felt a little dark. The property manager shrugged and said they couldn’t be fixed. The sofa bed wasn’t clean when we opened it, though thankfully we didn’t need it. When we later raised the lights and sofa bed to help improve the guest experience, the owner became defensive. A note on food: avoid the restaurants in the courtyard, as there are many better ones just a few minutes away.

The apartment was pretty and well located, but communication problems and the owner’s defensive, combative manner made the stay uncomfortable. Our only complaints were noisy air conditioning and not understanding the instructions, yet she really let us have it in messages and emails. Even after we left, the owner kept berating us about our attitude.

We had no issues with the owner, unlike the previous reviewer in English. The attic was a charming place to stay, in a quiet spot on a little square, and close to car parking. Everything was perfect.

Avoid this hotel. It’s incredibly noisy at night, and the church bells wake you up. They charge €70 just for cleaning, and garbage disposal isn’t included. There are more than ten much better hotels just five minutes away by car. I don’t recommend it!
