Hotel Et SPA du Scharrach

We were in the village for one night to visit the Christmas Market in Strasbourg, and the owner, Frank, was there to welcome us. He was really nice. The accommodation is in a small village surrounded by vineyards, with lovely old French houses that have been renovated. Even the hotel is in one of those old restored houses. Our apartment was 120 m², with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge with a large pool table, a big kitchen, a spacious dining room and a large terrace. It wasn’t luxurious, but it gave us more than we needed and felt cozy and comfortable, with that French feeling. We had dinner there and found the prices more than reasonable. There’s a local restaurant serving very good French food, as well as a brewery that makes its own beer. The hotel also has a spa and a small gym. If you’re after somewhere simple and cozy, this works well.

The unlimited, free use of the spa was the best surprise. The staff were very attentive, breakfast had a well-stocked buffet, and the room was comfortable and well arranged. It’s a small, typically Alsatian hotel. We picked it by chance because the location suited us, and communication with our host was perfect, so we could get into our room without any trouble. Thank you.

The room was spotless and good value, and the hotel itself was quiet. Breakfast was generous, though I did miss having a self-service coffee machine. We had a short weekend here and arrived on our own after a staff member texted us the entry codes. The staff were really friendly, too. I’d recommend it as a base for seeing the surrounding area.

I’ve only stayed in the rooms for themed evenings, so I can avoid driving afterward. They’re comfortable and relaxing, and breakfast is complete with plenty of variety. The evenings are so enjoyable that I tend to overdo it on the drinks 😅. It’s always a pleasure to come to Scharrach, whether for an ordinary meal or one of the special themed evenings they put on regularly through the year. The atmosphere is fantastic and the welcome is warm, especially thanks to Franck’s smile and good humor. The food is excellent, and you can tell the chef has lots of experience. The summer terrace is one of the nicest I know, with such a soothing feel. I love it!
