Hotel du Tertre

The staff were friendly, but the walls are very thin, so you can hear quiet conversations in the hallway. The place is nice, though remote, and the attached café closes early.

Just a few steps from the Mont and right on the GR34, this charming little hotel is in a great spot. We got a warm welcome and a cute room. Breakfast costs extra. For hikers, it'd be nice if you could book an evening meal. Thanks for having us.

The hotel was clean, but it felt very kitschy, with carpeting and rustic smells. The staff weren't especially friendly, and breakfast was very meager. Our quadruple room wasn't comfortable: one bed was a single that was too small and uncomfortable. It also had a macerating toilet, and the room was very hot. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it.

At €119 a night, we found mold, hair, and dust behind the beds, and the shower looked about 30 years old, with black mold around the grout and door seal. The photos show it. The manager didn't smile or even say hello, and there was a strange smell throughout the hotel. The macerating toilet roared like a tractor, waking the whole floor whenever a neighbor used it. We could hear everything next door when someone showered, and water even came up through the drains in our room. The Shining Hotel??? Avoid at all costs. Charging €120 for this is outrageous!
