Carpe Diem

We had a great base for exploring the small towns of Alsace, Colmar, and Strasbourg. The hosts, Eric and Virginie, were lovely, and we enjoyed chatting with them about the area over breakfast. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and a good size for two kids. Breakfast was lovely too, and a nice way to start each day. There’s a shared room with a pool table, coffee machine, and fridge, which would suit a group booking two or three rooms together. We saw the castle, monkey park, and eagle park while we were there, and the kids loved them. The weather was wet, so we’ll come back when it’s sunny in summer. Highly recommend this B&B. It also has an EV charger for a small fee.

We stayed in eight B&Bs during our month in France, and Carpe Diem was clearly the best of them. Eric and Virginie have put real care into the quality and details of the place. The house was recently refurbished with tasteful design and high-quality materials, and the stay felt just as comfortable and worthwhile as the one they’d want for themselves when travelling. They deserve congratulations for that. We visited in early Dec, when the house and grounds were beautifully decorated for Christmas. We understand they change the theme with the seasons, so I imagine it must be just as spectacular at other times. Eric speaks perfect English, and I believe he speaks several other European languages too. They gave us good suggestions for sights and nearby restaurants. A must-stay for anyone who appreciates space, quality, and warm hospitality.

Bravo! We stayed for 2 nights, and everything was great. The family room was spacious and clean, and the whole place was beautifully designed. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade cakes and yogurts, plus fruit. It’s very welcoming for children, with games, books, billiards, and a ping-pong table. Virginie and ERic are wonderful hosts. The guesthouse feels calm and relaxing. We absolutely recommend it as a place to explore the elsace area.

We stayed for 2 nights in August 2018 and really liked the place. The rooms were nice and air-conditioned, the food was very good, and the hosts were friendly. They suggested some good wine cellars to visit as well as restaurants. I highly recommend this establishment.
