We stopped by today without booking, and the lady was so kind and patient with my terrible French. My wife’s fish was as good as the superb risotto, and even the cider, which I don't usually drink, was excellent. All in all, superb. Thanks to the lady who looked after us.

Service was quick and good. The view was nice, though nothing earth-shattering, and the dining room we were seated in, facing south, was okay but not great. We’d walked through the original room to get there, and it looked worryingly worn out. The food was mixed. The ray was very good, but the scallops were pretty bland, even with a good dressing that didn’t seem homemade. The fries were incredibly greasy.

We’ve only visited twice, both times in the quiet season. The setting is lovely, and nearby Port Anna is a good starting point for a pleasant walk after a meal. The food is straightforward and sensibly priced, though the wine costs a little too much. Service is friendly.
