Just outside Pau, this is a lovely old Chateau. The beds were great, and there was room AC, a shared kitchen, and self serve breakfast. I’d love to come back.

The pool door was open most of the time, and the child-safe lock wasn’t being used because nobody could operate it. Be careful with children around the pool. The owners kept their distance and avoided contact with guests. Check-in, breakfast, and check-out were handled by aides. For the price, breakfast was miserable, and the place felt cold. You’re mostly left on your own. It was immaculate, though. The immediate surroundings were okay, but there’s a large industrial zone nearby. I wouldn’t recommend it for nature lovers.

The views of the Pyrenees were splendid, and the property itself is superb, with an outdoor terrace, swimming pool, and plenty of extras that made us feel at home. The rooms were beautiful and well-equipped. Carole welcomed us warmly, knows the region very well, and had lots of places to suggest visiting. She also has plenty of stories to tell. The homemade croissants were lovely, thank you, Carole. We’d gladly return to this magnificent guesthouse.
