That green, quiet setting feels like a little refuge, and the cottage is just right. We’ve been coming to Moulin des Borderies for two years, and the hosts are always attentive and quick to respond while still giving us space. We recommend it 200% and already can’t wait to return next year.

The gîte itself is beautiful, though it felt a little too isolated for us. The bigger disappointment was the pool being closed in early September, despite the 26-27 degree weather. Booking.com had said it would be open, and we mentioned that in our review. Afterward, the owner sent us all kinds of messages, trying to prove he was right instead of simply asking where we’d seen that information. His daughter eventually passed along an apology, but it didn’t make up for losing a day by the pool. It is what it is, but the unpleasant way he communicated, which led me to block him, left a bad taste about an otherwise lovely place.

The welcome was warm and lovely, and the cottages are wonderful to stay in. Set in a lush green valley beside the river, it’s so peaceful and quiet... mmmmm...

For a quiet family holiday, this place is ideal. The hosts made us feel very welcome, breakfast was delicious, and the location is excellent.

We only got to try the mushrooms and mushroom quiches, not the guest rooms. They were an absolute delight!!
