ibis Strasbourg Sud la Vigie

It’s a basic, inexpensive place to stay if you’re visiting Strasbourg on a budget. Getting into the city is easy by train, about six minutes.

I booked a room for myself and my three little kids, and the stay was awful. The stale cigarette smell throughout the room was so strong that it felt impossible to stay there. My kids were uncomfortable, and I expected a clean, usable room, not something that smelled like an ashtray. I can’t understand how this is acceptable, and it left me feeling the hotel doesn’t care about cleaning or guests. We won’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save your money and avoid it.

Breakfast was average at best, and the toilet had a very strong smell. The pillows felt like three cotton balls stuffed into a case. The hotel and rooms are worn out, and the so-called air conditioning makes lots of noise without cooling the room. Not recommended. The worst Ibis Budget I’ve stayed in.

The staff were so friendly, even though we arrived to check in at about 10 PM. They also let us leave our luggage for free before our 4 PM train and offered us coffee while we waited. Those small gestures made a difference. We spent two days here; it’s a little outside Strasbourg, but public transport is a good option, about a 10-minute walk away.
