Hôtel Régent Contades By Stay Collection

We liked being close to the center, with the river right nearby for a pleasant walk into town. The staff were friendly and quick to sort out the broken soap dispenser when we mentioned it. The room and bed were clean, though the superior room felt smaller than expected compared with other Strasbourg hotels at a similar price. The building is striking, but also looks worn: there were holes in the wallpaper and damaged sinks, and it needs repairs. The bar and lobby felt too dark to make us want to sit down for a drink. There’s no dedicated parking, but the hotel offers overnight valet parking for €30. That was fine until we got the car back and found the seat and mirrors had been moved and other settings changed. I wasn’t happy about that.

Had a lovely stay here. The city is beautiful, the hotel was great, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was delicious too. 5/5 😊

The breakfast selection was high quality, and the team there made the meal feel well looked after. On arrival, two friendly, knowledgeable staff members explained the hotel and the area and suggested some good restaurants. Everyone was attentive throughout, and the service made the stay feel seamless. Our room had an elegant design and a lovely city view. The hotel sits right in the center, with the main sights an easy walk away. The neighborhood is picturesque and felt very safe for exploring. We had a genuinely luxurious, memorable stay and I’d happily recommend it.

It’s a lovely building in a convenient spot, but the stay itself was disappointing. The room’s air conditioning was so loud that we kept switching it off during the night, even though the room was baking. Breakfast was awful too. The supposedly hot food was stone cold, and the rest was left uncovered with wasps around it. I counted three in the jam alone. At €25, it definitely wasn’t worth it.
