I spent four months trying to resolve this with Hôtel Beau Site Talloires B SPA. The European Consumer Centre in France and the UK International Consumer Centre both asked the hotel to refund me and apologize, but the hotel refused to do either. I booked through Booking.com and raised the issue with them too, but they treated themselves as a third party and didn’t help. The accessibility problems made the stay extremely disappointing. As a disabled guest, I was put in a room on the third floor with no lift. My husband had to carry all our luggage upstairs, and using the stairs myself was physically painful. The hotel knew about my disability but made no effort to accommodate us and ignored my concerns. The air conditioning wasn’t set to cool. The manager openly said the hotel controlled when it was switched to a cool setting, without regard for my comfort. When I reported that the refrigerator wasn’t working, nobody offered a fix, and my complaints were met with indifference. When I tried to give feedback, a staff member asked where I was from instead of addressing what I’d raised. It made me feel my background was being used to undermine my complaints, and left me feeling unwelcome as a person of color. To me, the hotel showed little respect for disabled guests and people of color. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for fair, respectful treatment.

The pool and spa are really well designed, and we had a great time using the parking lot and private beach in August. The place is one of the most stunning around the lake. Just be aware that the cheapest rooms are VERY small and not all rooms have a lake view, so consider upgrading if you can.

There’s plenty of parking, and guests can use the pool, sauna, steam room and spa area. The hotel is handy for the free July/August buses and water taxis around the lake. It’s also an easy walk to the supermarket, cafes and port. The room had a kettle and fridge, which were very useful, though the rules about eating in the room are strict. During busy periods the bar moves to the private beach, so we couldn’t use the lovely lake-view terrace in the daytime. We ate breakfast out each morning because €21 per person felt a little steep.

It’s a lovely spot, with a nice car park, private beach, pool, spa and a great terrace for drinks. The people working there are nice too. Prices can vary a lot, though, and it can get expensive. The room was disappointing, with a very small, uncomfortable bed. It was so hot at night that we couldn’t rest, even though it was the end of September and the outside temperature was no more than 15 degrees at night.

The staff were incredibly nice, and Figaro the dog was perfect. The property is beautiful and runs right down to the lake. We loved our three-night stay in the annex, and the room was clean and nice, with a great bed. The AC and heater worked amazingly, and the shower had perfect pressure and heat. We had breakfast there every morning, and it was amazing. We ate dinner at the restaurant once, and it was delicious. It’s a bit fancier, so portions are smaller. If you want comfort food portions, go somewhere else, but the food was VERY delicious. My wife and I LOVED our stay. Can’t recommend it more.
