Gîte 3 étoiles chez Nath et Tony

Taurinya is a pretty little village, and having a grocery shop with a bread counter and a tobacconist right beside the cottage was handy. The cottage worked perfectly as a base for what we wanted to see. We booked through Booking.com with cleaning and linens included, though it’s best to check with the hosts since arrangements may differ by platform or change in the coming months. We felt at home straight away. The place is tastefully decorated and well equipped, with a pellet stove and pellets provided. Upstairs in the owners’ house, it has a bedroom for three children and another with a double bed for the parents, wardrobes in both, a bathroom with two sinks, shower and toilet, plus a living room with two sofas and an armchair. There’s also a kitchen with a large table, a balcony, and a garden with loungers, barbecue and outdoor furniture. The entrance garden is for guests, and the owners downstairs were very discreet. We knew we could knock if we needed anything. Contact was easy and friendly, and replies came quickly. Nathalie welcomed us on arrival, put us at ease, and explained the cottage and places to visit nearby. Tony is a hiking guide and can offer advice too. We had a perfect stay and absolutely recommend it.

The garden was a lovely place to unwind, with sun loungers and a table and chairs under a parasol, and it was great for an evening barbecue. Inside, the cottage was comfortable and well equipped for a family, with a nice kitchen, bathroom, and room for the children to relax and play. We especially enjoyed the quiet. Nathalie and Antoine gave us a warm welcome, were kind and discreet, and had useful suggestions for exploring the area. We felt right at home and recommend the place if you’re looking for peace and nature. Hikers can reach the river, waterfalls, and mountains easily. There’s a small grocery shop just nearby for fresh bread, and Prades town centre with its shops is a 10-minute drive away.

The owners, Nathalie and Tony, were so friendly and welcomed us warmly. Their adorable cat, Leko, was a sweet bonus. Our apartment was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, with linens supplied and everything we needed. It’s in a quiet, pretty village at the foot of Mount Canigou, well placed for walks and hikes, with lots of interesting places to visit nearby. We had a very pleasant stay and hope to come back soon.
