The room was clean, the spare pillow was handy, and the shutter darkened the room well. There’s only a flimsy little curtain on the window, though, and it really ought to be blackout. The person we finally reached by phone was very friendly and helpful, but getting hold of anyone took half an hour because reception was closed when we arrived. It was empty again when we needed to catch our train, so we left the key card near the desk and went. The shower took about 40 very frustrating minutes to get warm with decent pressure. The bathroom smelled a bit like sewage, and the shower dispenser was empty, so we had to lean over the sink to use the wall-mounted hand soap. The lamps couldn’t reach the sockets, and charging a phone meant unplugging something like the TV. There’s no light switch by the bed, either.

The room had plenty of space, and the location worked well for us, near the center, station and a large supermarket. There’s heating you can adjust if the night gets cold, and a balcony too. But the sheets and towels had stains, which made me wonder if they’d been changed after the last guest. There’s no air conditioning, and with the nearby railway, leaving the window open made it noisy and difficult to sleep. It’s a very cheap place, so decide for yourself, but don’t expect much.

The price is low, and the apartment offers some privacy. It’s near the city center and lake, with a Carrefour right next door. I didn’t hear trains at night, even though the railway is nearby and not too busy. Cleanliness was a problem. Guests are expected to clean before checkout, and it gave me the impression that this may be the only cleaning done. The place also needs maintenance, with loose taps and a loose toilet. The kitchenette was barely usable: no knives for cutting, chopping board or frying pan, and the electric stove only got lukewarm. The microwave and kettle did work.

A terrible place to stay. Fine if you like noise and a lack of cleaning. There’s no air conditioning or fan in summer, and the bathroom smelled strongly of mold.
