Hôtel de la Condamine

Winter nights in the rooms were so cold that I got sick, which is why I gave the place one star. During the stay, the host kept watching what we did and criticizing our housekeeping. They would even come into the room whenever they wanted, making everything feel as uncomfortable as possible. It was toxic and stressful. If you’re curious about staying here, be warned and get out while you can. I doubt the host pays attention to Google reviews, but at least you know what happened to us.

The pleasant surroundings and a decent hotel were let down by the manager’s repeated comments and intrusions during our stay. The food was freezing, too, and all of that ended up spoiling the experience.

We stayed at the Gîte de la Condamine over the May 2022 Ascension weekend, and it was a real little haven of happiness. The summer kitchen and pool made for a lovely family time, while having a bathroom for every bedroom gave everyone privacy. Everything had been arranged to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you, Ms. Bouquet, for being discreet and so helpful.

The gîte is in a good location, and we had a pleasant time with friends, but it didn't feel worth the price and we won't return. The showers were the biggest headache: the temperature swung from scalding to freezing, sometimes with no pressure at all. It happened regardless of the time or how many people were showering, and washing the children was stressful because they could get burned. Having a separate shower in each room is useful, though most of them are extremely small. In our room the curtain was torn, and the toilet seat had no lid. The kitchen setup made cooking for 20 a nightmare. Only one oven worked, and it could fit just one dish. The pool itself was nice, but the pictures looked outdated. The area around it was artificial grass and dirt rather than a lovely lawn. Still, the stay with friends was pleasant.
