The main draw is the location: you’re on skis almost as soon as you leave, with Tufs about 20m away and Bollin, Tichot and the funicular an easy ski from there. The village centre is only a couple of minutes on foot, and we liked having so many places to eat nearby. We even went back to a few restaurants twice. Reception was helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, though small and starting to feel a bit worn. The bathroom and WC could use a refresh. Breakfast had a decent selection and was kept stocked. I asked for gluten-free bread, but they couldn’t find any on day one. Someone located it the next morning, and I got it on four of our six days, so it seemed to depend on who was working. The Wi-Fi was patchy, especially in the rooms. There’s a lively bar in the evenings for a drink, snack or some company. Still a good option at the right price, and that location is hard to beat.

Right by the chairlifts, with restaurants and bars close by. Such a great spot. I’m going to miss Polo, Caroline, Thoma and Juliette. You were all great. Until next time!

We felt so welcome here. The owner was friendly, funny and went out of his way to make our stay feel special, more like being welcomed into his home than checking into a hotel. The hotel itself is cosy, breakfast was very good, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars just a minute away. For skiing, you can head straight out, with the Tufs chairlift about 20 yards from the back door. We’ll definitely recommend it and plan to return next year.

This is a warm, quiet, clean and well cared for place, with a cosy area where you can sit, chat and have a drink. The rooms aren’t fancy and are only in decent condition, but they’re looked after. There’s a TV and Wi-Fi, daily cleaning, and towels can be changed every day if needed. Breakfast was great and they made sure there was plenty. The hotel sits right at the start of lots of trails in the Val Claret region, so you can put your skis on outside and set off. The owner was especially friendly and approachable, and took the time to explain everything. It deserves more than two stars. I’d happily recommend it if you’re after good value and don’t expect a five-star holiday.
