The service was the best part. Every employee we met was the friendliest person we’d encountered in France, and they were so helpful and accommodating. They even let us use the kitchen, which is meant for staff only, so we could boil eggs for the road. Thanks, Hotel Anatole, for the kind smiles and wonderful service. Just remember it’s a 2 star hotel: the walls are paper thin and the street is noisy, though at that price it’s hard to complain.

I was really disappointed. The organization was chaotic, with towels all over the corridors and check-in and check-out times changing. The atmosphere felt strange, the rooms were in a shabby “hide misery” state, and there was street noise.

I liked the place, and it does the job if you’re staying a couple of days, keeping costs down, and want to be right in the city. The location is incredible, the prices for the middle of town are amazing, the staff are very very good, and the service is excellent. There’s a damn good cafe downstairs, and free street parking from 8pm to 9am. It felt safe, too. I’m a 54 year old British man, so I’m qualified to be sarcastic and caustic, but I’d give this hotel my seal of approval. The rooms are basic and can be noisy. You may hear more of the person next door going about their life than you’d like. And the toilet setup is definitely not for shy folk: the toilet, bedroom, and shower are all in one room. The toilet is next to the door, so someone passing in the corridor might know what you ate last night. You can watch the TV at the end of the bed from it. If you’re part of a couple, I hope you don’t mind that kind of intimacy. I still used it, of course. When in Toulouse... perhaps it’s a regional thing.

It’s in a university area, close to the city centre, and well placed for a jog along the river. The hotel is reasonably priced, and we slept peacefully since there was almost no outside noise at night. The owner was very kind and let us leave our luggage early in the morning while we went sightseeing.

We had a really pleasant three-night stay at the Hôtel Anatole France. Our room was simple, clean, and comfortable, just what we wanted after long days exploring. The hotel had recently been renovated, and the staff were welcoming and helpful, making both arrival and departure smooth. Right in the heart of Toulouse, it was easy to explore on foot and enjoy the restaurants, cafes, and entertainment around Place du Capitole and the Basilica of Saint-Sernin. Great value for a city break, highly recommend it! 🌟
