Camping Le Rupe

The tent area is big, but the ground is so hard and dry that getting the metal poles in is a struggle. The washing machines cost 5€ to use. Toilets and showers are awful and dirty, and the toilet had no seat or lid. I had to keep pressing the shower button by hand because otherwise the water stopped after a second. It's 4h39 am and I'm writing this because loud music from outside the campsite is keeping me awake for the second day in a row. Completely overpriced for what they offer.

The lovely girl at reception was the one good thing, but she wasn't there when we arrived and we got Mr. Unhelpful instead. Our arrival was stressful: the gates were shut, and we ended up blocking the road with our motorhome. The man who eventually unlocked them gave us only a pitch number and no information. The place needs a thorough clean, tidying, and overhaul, and that should have happened before the season started. Showers look okay but clearly aren't checked by management. Half, including the disabled showers, had no hooks or other basics. Some push button showers need constant pressing, so you have to manage with one hand; the others had weak pressure. Only one light worked in the sink area. It's a shame, as the campsite could be a little gem near the canals and cycle paths. Nearby shops were only along a very busy road, and nearly all were fast food places.

Pierre was so friendly and helpful. He helped us pick a suitable pitch and explained the festival weekend and how to get to and from Toulouse by public transport. The bus and metro cost 1.80 euros each way. He also checked the airport access for us because we needed to know if a high motor home could drop someone off, and it can. The campsite was lovely and quiet, with clean toilets and showers. Recycling and the motor home facilities were great too. A very pleasant stay, thank you Pierre!

We arrived very late in the rain, and the guard was really kind. He offered us a big tent instead of leaving us to sleep in our small one, with no extra charge. There's also a little house for people without a vehicle, with a fridge, microwave, and lots of Toulouse information. It's a simple campsite, but the bathrooms were spacious and nice.
