Maison Redon

We came back to Maison Redon for a second visit and loved it just as much as the first. Edwina was warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. Our ensuite room was lovely, with great views, and the house is full of character. Breakfast was great, with homemade treats including jams and yoghurt. There's also a lovely swimming pool and great parking. We'd highly recommend it and will visit again. 10/10

A clean, comfortable room, and a nice stay.

The rural setting was pleasant and just a short drive from Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. We stayed on October 1, 2025. The rooms matched the photos: simple, spacious, and comfortable, on the second floor up a flight of stairs. This is a bed and breakfast, with no shared guest areas. Breakfast is served in a pleasant ground-floor dining room. It was adequate but not abundant, with a choice of sweet or savory and portions that were just right. We were a couple in our sixties, traveling with our 30-year-old daughter and 89-year-old grandmother. The reception was terrible. When we booked, we had agreed that we could arrive at midday to leave our luggage, use the bathroom, then go to lunch and take a walk in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. That morning, though, I got an apology message saying we couldn't be received before 4:00 PM. When we arrived, the house was locked, with several children's toys scattered around. A woman in a shed beside the property said she was a neighbor, and that the owner had gone out with her children and would be back soon. We asked if the 89-year-old could use a bathroom, but she said there wasn't one and she didn't have a key to the house either. At 5:00 PM we asked the neighbor if she could contact the owner. She checked her phone and gave me the number, saying her daughter-in-law had many children. So the neighbor was her mother-in-law. I called Edwina, who apologized for the delay and said she'd had trouble with a child but was almost there. She finally arrived at 6:00 PM in a van with several children, who helped unload and bring in the groceries. The grandmother desperately needed a bathroom, and between the changed check-in time and the further delay, we lost the whole afternoon. There was no compensation. We had to see St. Cirq Lapopie at night, when the beautiful medieval village dies in the dark.

The bed was absolutely comfortable, and the room was pretty, very large, bright, and tastefully furnished. The hostess was charming. Breakfast was homemade, very good, and plentiful. Highly recommended!
