In room 202 there was damp and mould everywhere. After work, around 21:00, I had to take cold showers on two nights because there was no hot water in the evenings.

The location is perfect for getting around the region, with Lille only 20 minutes away. We slept well in a good bed, and the curtains blocked all the light. The room itself is very dated, though the bathroom is newer, if tiny. We even found a giant spider in the middle of the night, and the lovely reception staff helped get it out while staying friendly about it. The spider was definitely the less welcome part of the stay. This is really just a place to get some shuteye.

The restaurant closed early, so we checked with the woman there about ordering food in and she said it was fine. She even helped us order online, since everything was in French and there was no translation option. We could play music as long as it wasn't bothering anyone, and had some of their 8% local beer. We had a great night, a nice end to 14 weeks of traveling and working around Europe and staying in different hotels most nights. Thanks to the staff for our last night before heading home 🙏

The first room they gave us hadn't been serviced at all. We ended up in a second room that was still dirty, with a sticky floor and a strong smell. The baby bed got big stains from the floor.

We had a very pleasant stay and found the beds comfortable. Guests can park for free, and Lille is about 20 minutes away by metro or tram. There's a supermarket nearby where you can pick up souvenirs too. A wonderful hotel in Tourcoing!
