Le Terminus

I was here twice in one week while travelling around France for work and visiting customers. The first room was lovely, quaint but nicely modernised while keeping its stone walls and character, with a very nice balcony overlooking the street. I arrived around 8.45pm and still got a lovely meal in the restaurant, where last orders are at 9.00pm. I slept really well and left early, so I didn't try breakfast that time. On the second visit I got a top-floor room with a small street-facing window, and it didn't have the same feel at all. There was no proper headboard to lean against when sitting up in bed. The bathroom's sliding door was half falling off, and it hid the light switch so you could only see it when the door was shut. My shower at 8.20 the next morning started with lukewarm water that turned cold before my five minutes were up. Breakfast was okay, nothing specifically wrong with it. As is typical in France, the only hot food was boiled eggs. There was a limited choice of pastries, about 12 kinds of jam, preserves and honey, plus some excellent ham that I enjoyed. The food menu at the excellent restaurant has a good range, dishes come quickly, and there's a good wine selection. Restaurants all overcharge for wine, and this one does too, though its prices are reasonable compared with others. The first bedroom gets 5 stars, the second 3, breakfast 3.5, and the restaurant 5. I'd go back for the restaurant, but only if I could be sure of getting the first room again. My photos show that room. They have their own parking off the station car park.
