Odalys Apart'hotel Les Jardins des Lettres

We were there for three nights. The room was clean, but it smelled as if someone had just smoked in it, maybe the previous guests. Thanks for the smartphoto discount. We paid for delivery, and the photo album is small but cute.

For 115 euros a night for a single room, this felt like a two-star hotel charging three-star prices. Even toilet paper costs extra, along with extra towels and sheets, which you could buy for less at Carrefour. Don't expect much in the room: no hair dryer, kettle, or other facilities. It wasn't even clean, and I found an orange mark on one of the sheets. A very unsatisfying stay.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are generally friendly. Still, my friends and I all lost most of our deposits over what seemed like bogus reasons, such as limescale on the tap. You can see in the attached photo how little limescale there was. As a student, I wouldn't say it's worth being treated that way.

The staff were really friendly, breakfast was great, and the location worked well for visiting the Loire châteaux nearby. The accommodation itself is basic but adequate for a short stay. In summer it gets hot, and there’s only a fan.
