The dorms were tidy, with comfortable mattresses and plenty of headroom. My room had a small bathroom and a separate shower room, so there was rarely a queue for either. The desks and stools in the dorm were useful for working or putting on shoes. Staff kept everything neat and tidy throughout my four-day stay. As a solo traveller, I also appreciated the safety and security offered by The People Hostel group. I arrived early and they let me store my luggage securely while I explored the neighborhood. They told me about restaurant specials and were very helpful getting me settled. The staff at The People Tours were excellent. It’s an easy walk to and from the train station, and the neighborhood has plenty of places to buy food if you use the guest kitchen. Tours is very walkable, so I didn’t need to spend extra on local transport to explore. Thanks for a great stay!

The kindness of Marion and Gladys made this a five-star experience for us. After a terrible, turbulent week travelling back to the UK, our car broke down twice, and the second breakdown nearly turned tragic. We were stranded in Tours and spent hours looking for somewhere to stay. We explained our situation at several hotels, from one to five stars, but kept hearing that check-in was only at or after 2pm. It was around 8am, and we’d been searching since 4:30. Once we got back in touch with the breakdown customer service, we walked to THE PEOPLE TOURS. Marion was sorting out breakfast when we quickly explained what had happened. She said they had just one room available, but they could get it ready for us right away. She must have seen how exhausted we were. She also offered breakfast, which we rushed in to have after a quick shower. She helped translate messages back and forth with our French breakdown cover, too. We slept all day. The next day, Gladys looked after us and was very polite. The place was very clean, the room simple but cozy, and it was easy to reach the train station for our journey home. Breakfast was OK, but the warm welcome and the staff’s straightforward kindness were the best parts. Thank you so much from Alex and Martin to everyone, especially Marion and Gladys.

The hostel is large, the staff are friendly, and it’s very close to the city centre. I stayed in a four-bed dorm, which was just right for the price. The rooms are well equipped. The only downside was the sewer smell, which I noticed around the city too. Luckily, closing the bathroom door kept it out of the room.

It’s cheap for France, and the bike parking felt safe and secure. The location is pretty good for seeing the city sights. But the place felt corporate rather than like a hostel. The bunk was small and not very comfortable, and the furnishings seemed cheap. You also can’t have your own food or drinks in the garden, even when nobody’s using it.

A really cool, clean place with great staff. Mutz is especially helpful and knows a lot. Mutz is a real credit to the hotel.
