La Pagerie Tropical Garden Hotel

We had a pleasant week. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the staff were friendly and attentive, and they tried to meet our needs. Breakfast was an amazing buffet with something for everyone. During our stay, both the vending machine and water dispenser were broken. The car park was either full or closed, so we had to find street parking every day.

We really enjoyed the clean room, which had a useful mini fridge with a little freezer, a kettle, a small coffee machine, and a kitchen sink. The balcony overlooking the Creole Village was lovely, and from this great location it was easy to walk to Anse Mitan, our favorite, or Pointe Du Bout beach. The pool was nice, though most days we were at the beach or out on an excursion. We’ve just come back from a week at La Pagerie and had an amazing trip. There was an odd smell in our room, possibly from the plumbing, but it was fixed as soon as we complained. We loved the performers and entertainment we saw each evening. It could use better advertising so guests know what’s on and when. The events often fell during dinner, so spreading out the times or adding something by the pool in mid-afternoon might work better. There was a free floral design workshop on Monday, but we didn’t know about it and only found it by chance. We ended up with a gorgeous arrangement in our room for the rest of the week. Breakfast was great, though it’d be even better if it ran until 11 am. A happy hour at the pool or lobby bar once or twice a day would also be nice, since drinks can be expensive across the island, not just at the hotel.

The pool and bar were great, the drinks fantastic, and the murals gave the whole stay a perfect tropical island feel. The hotel is beautiful, and if you’re after somewhere to stay in Point Du Bout, this is a great option. The rooms were good, there’s a duty free store right on the compound, and restaurants are an easy walk away. Check out La Annexe.

The price feels too high for what you get. Parking is busy, pool towels might not be available when you need one, and the rooms need renovating. Mold is starting to appear between the bathroom tiles.
