We stayed in Roches Noires, the former grand hotel that’s now divided into privately owned flats. The classic building is interesting, but badly needs refurbishment. Its position right on the beach is rare and wonderful.

Steeped in history, and magnificent to see. A place worth discovering.
It’s a beautiful building with an important place in the town’s history. Even with facade work underway, it still brings charm and luxury to the Trouville boardwalk. It’s a shame, for selfish reasons, that the public can’t go inside.
Formerly a hotel visited by Parisian aristocracy, and a place where Marcel Proust stayed, this is a beautiful spot on the seafront beneath the sloping hillside. The white sand beach is lovely. A few palm trees would give it an exotic touch.
Marguerite Duras stayed at this former hotel.
